“一带一路”监测区域地理跨度大，土地覆盖类型多样。2014年监测区域内土地覆盖类型以森林、草地和农田为主（图2-1），总面积分别为1279.33万km2、1234.42万km21159.77万km2，所占面积比例分别为24.07%、23.22%和21.82%（表2-2）。从空间分布看，森林主要分布在亚寒带和热带；草地主要分布在亚洲中部的高原山地及俄罗斯北部；农田多分布在印度半岛、中南半岛、西欧平原、中欧平原和东欧平原等。另外，裸地面积也较多，占监测区总面积的20.69%，主要分布在亚非荒漠区和蒙古高原地区。

The land cover monitoring area of the Belt and Road Initiative features a wide geographical span and diverse land cover types. In 2014, the land cover within the monitoring area was dominated by forests, grasslands, and croplands (Figure 2-1), with total areas of 12.7933 million km², 12.3442 million km², and 11.5977 million km², accounting for 24.07%, 23.22%, and 21.82% of the total area, respectively (Table 2-2). Spatially, forests are mainly distributed in subarctic and tropical regions; grasslands are primarily located in the plateaus and mountains of Central Asia and northern Russia; croplands are mostly distributed in the Indian Peninsula, Indochina Peninsula, Western European Plain, Central European Plain, Eastern European Plain, and other regions. In addition, bare land covers a considerable area, accounting for 20.69% of the total area of the monitoring zone, and is mainly distributed in the Asia-Africa desert regions and the Mongolian Plateau.
