Nematode C. elegans polymorphic strains show different temperature acclimation. Australian strain AB1 acclimates quickly to the new temperature, while Hawaiian strain CB4856 acclimates more slowly. To identify the responsible gene polymorphisms that determine temperature acclimation diversity, recombinants were isolated by crossing AB1 and CB4856 strains. We have identified the responsible gene polymorphisms generating temperature acclimation diversity by next-generation DNA sequencing and SNP analysis of the recombinants.
