Genetic variability of Leptospira noguchii strains

This work constitutes the first report of complete genomes of L. noguchii, which allowed a comprehensive analysis of its genetic variability. Remarkably, after comparing with known serovars of different Leptospira species, it was possible to reveal serovar-specific genetic fingerprints encoded within a locus that functions as a huge mobile genetic element, paving the way for further in-depth studies.
