Local and systemic effects of an aqueous extract from fennel on rice transcriptome

The effects of foliar treatment of rice plants with an aqueous extract derived from fennel waste were investigated by mRNA sequencing. Samples of local tissues (shoot material) and systemic tissues (root material) were taken and investigated for transcriptional changes as compared to mock-treated plants, i.e. plants treated with water. Four hours post treatment shoot material was sampled and 24 hours post treatment both shoot and root material were sampled for mRNA sequencing.
