Vascular Plant Percent Cover and Presence/Absence on Three Glacier Forelands, Ellesmere Island, Canada (1995 & 2016)

A study of plant primary succession on glacial forelands, investigating successional patterns in a High Arctic landscape.Our aim was to study plant colonization and community development on 3 High Arctic glacial forelands, by repeating surveys conducted 21 years ago. In the summer of 2016, we re-visited 3 glacial forelands on the eastern coast of Ellesmere Island originally surveyed in 1995. The primary study area was Twin Glacier at Alexandra Fiord. We surveyed plant species using percent cover estimates and presence/absence counts.The data is one part of the principal investigator's Master's Thesis, and will be published in a journal article.
