This dataset contains the paramagnetic diffuse magnetic neutron‑scattering measurement of a holmium single crystal in the h0l reciprocal‑lattice plane, recorded just above the Néel temperature (T ≈ 141 K, T_N ≈ 133 K) on the E2 flat‑cone diffractometer at BENSC, Helmholtz‑Zentrum Berlin (former HMI), with a pyrolytic‑graphite monochromator and a 400‑channel linear position‑sensitive detector. The deposit comprises the measurement itself (raw detector counts versus 2θ channel and sample rotation ω, with beam‑monitor values), the per‑channel detector‑efficiency calibration from a vanadium measurement, the monitor‑normalised instrumental background, and the mean‑field model input (lattice, scattering geometry, magnetic form factor and exchange‑shell topology). The calibration constants required to use the data — neutron wavelength (λ = 2.383 Å), detector 2θ zero‑offset (+0.149°) and lattice parameters (hexagonal, a = 3.557 Å, c = 5.580 Å) — are given in the included DATA_README, which also documents the file formats and the exact command to reproduce the analysis. Together with the analysis software TVtueb (Zenodo DOI 10.5281/zenodo.21002314), this dataset reproduces the mean‑field exchange parameters 𝒥_i and the crystal‑field parameter B₂⁰ reported in the accompanying paper, Paramagnetic diffuse neutron scattering and magnetic exchange interactions in holmium.
