The Evolution of Religion
收藏资源简介:
The contemporary world is the product of thousands of years of human experimentation with social organisation, religious belief, political authority, historical memory, technology, and cultural exchange. Ancient civilisations did not simply construct cities and empires; they developed systems of meaning through which human beings interpreted nature, explained suffering, legitimised leadership, preserved collective memories, and organised communities. Religion and history became two influential mechanisms through which societies understood their origins and imagined their futures. Yet neither religion nor historical consciousness can be attributed to one civilisation or a single moment of invention. Spiritual practices predate written history, while systems of writing and record-keeping emerged independently in several regions.
