Sample survey dataset of typical plant communities in East Dongting Lake beach（2011–2015）

The data set consists of 4 tables, which are "Species Composition of Beach Plant Community" table, "Characteristics of Beach Plant Community" table, "Plot Information" table and "Plot Management Record" table. The table of"Species Composition of Beach Plant Community" table and "Characteristics of Beach Plant Community" recorded the species composition and community characteristics of three typical wetland plant communities (Carex sp, Miscanthus lutarioriparius and Polygonum hydropiper) in the long-term monitoring sample plots of Dongting Lake Station, contained 14 fields, which includes species name, Latin name, number of plants (clusters) (plants or clusters/quadrats), average height of leaf layer (cm), average height of reproductive branches (cm), coverage (%), phenological period, dominant species, number of plant species, density (plants or clusters/m2), leaf layer height (cm), reproductive branch height (cm), total coverage (%), and total dry weight of aboveground green parts (g/m2).
