Guidelines for Creating and Importing Seed Source Registry Data to Import into a What To Plant Where Portal

The What To Plant Where portal (WTPW) allows users to import Seed Source Registry data. Seed registry data is not included in the WTPW so that users can obtain the most recent version of a national seed source registry from the national partners in the Right Tree, Right Place – Seed Project (RTRP-Seed). This project is funded by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN). The development of the WTPW portals for Kenya and Rwanda was also funded by the Bezos Earth Fund to the Quality Tree Seed for Africa in Kenya and Rwanda project. For Rwanda, funding was also provided by the Green Climate Fund to the Transforming Eastern Africa through Adaptation project. The facility of being able to import seed source registry data can also be used to import a different set of seed source locations. Also, this facility can be used to calculate the suitability of selected species in potential planting sites, as the WTPW will include information on the suitability of a species at the seed source locations.
