Nitrogen regulator genes (ntcA) sequenced from copepod gut

DNA was extracted from the gut of calanoid copepods from the Bermuda Atlantic Time Series Station over 4 months. These guts previously showed high abundances of the picocyanobacteria Synocococcus, especially in December and May. The global nitrogen regulator gene, ntcA, was amplified and sequenced to determine the diversity of picocyanobacterial clades throughout the year in copepod guts.
