1586. Size 83/4 in. by 43/4 in.; foll. 255. From fifteen to twenty-three lines in a page.

I.Foll. 3-80. DAWWÂNÎ’S Commentary on العقائد العضدیة (see no. 455), with the date of the author as given in no. 457.

Well written in Nasta’lîḳ, by one ‘Abd al-wahhâb, at Dehli. Dated 2nd Jumâda II., 1096. Marginal notes on the first few pages.

II.Foll. 81-96. The Miracles of the early Prophets compared with those of Muḥammad, by an unknown author.

Begins: الحمدلله ...هذا کتاب اذکر فیه معجزات الانبیاء علیهم الصلوة و السلام معجزات ادم عم سبعة و ادریس اثنتان الخ.

Ends: فهذا ما صح عندنا من المعجزات الواردة فی الاخبار بالاسانید الصحاح من الانبیاء صلوات الله و سلامه علیهم اجمعین.

Written in small Nasta’lîḳ.

III. Foll. 97-144. شرح نخبة الفکر. IBN ḤAJAR ‘ASḲALÂNÎ’s (d. A.H. 852) Commentary on his own Manual of the Science of Tradition. See no. 199.

Written by two Nasta’lîḳ hands. Numerous marginal notes. On the title-page is added a chain of the authorities who handed down Bukhârî’s Ṣaḥîḥ.

IV.Foll. 145-154. A Guide to Prayer, styled زاد الفقیر, by Shams al-dîn Abu ‘Abdallah Muḥammad b. Shaikh Zain al-dîn ‘Abd al-wâḥid, commonly called IBN AL-HUMÂM (d. A.H. 861). Cf. Ḥ. Kh. iii. 527, who is, however, inaccurate.

Begins:

الحمدلله ...قال الشیخ الامام ... سالنی بعض اصدقائی الفقراء من طلبة العلم و انا علی جناح سفر ان اکتب له مقدمة علی الصلوة و شروطها مسهلة الانقیاد واضحة المراد یستفید منها کل مرتاد فاجبته...و سمیتها زاد الفقیر ...و اوردت فیها من المسائل ما یکثر وقوعه و ربما وقع فیها القلیل من النوادر انساق القلم الیه الخ.

Written like no. II.

V.Foll. 155-193. ‘ABD AL-BÂḲI’S Commentary (الآداب الباقیة) on Jurjânî’s treatise on Dialectics (الرسالة الشریفة الشریفیة), the same version as no. 554.

Written in small Nasta’lîḳ. Some notes.

Foll. 156 and 161 should be transposed.

VI.Foll. 194-206. A treatise on Death and Burial, by MUḤAMMAD YA’ḲÛB BANBÂNÎ (البَنْبانی), entitled کتاب العبور عن دار الغرور.

Begins: سبحانک من تفرد بالقهر و البقاء الخ.

It is divided into chapters, the last of which (فی الرویا) is illustrated by some stories, after which the author concludes as follows (fol. 205v.): انتهت الحکایات المنقولة عن احیاء العلوم اللهم خلقتنی مجانا و رزقتنی مجانا فاغفر لی مجانا الخ.

Then comes a chapter in Persian, inscribed فی کیفیة الاسقاط.

Well written. The numbers of the chapters, which were to have been added in red, are omitted.

VII.Foll. 207-255. الموضح الفصیح. A Commentary on the 12th Sûrah of the Koran, compiled by MUḤAMMAD KÂSHIF Ḥanafî, under the auspices of Aurangzîb, in Dhû-alḥijjah, 1101.

Prefixed is a long preface, which begins: الحمدلله مظهر المکنونات عن سرادق العدم الخ. The author says in it, regarding the origin of this work (fol. 218): انی کنت جالسا فی شهر ذی الحجة یوما معی سورة یوسف مع تفسیرها المشهور للعلامة المتین معین الملة و الدین و تفسیرها المنقول للامام الزاهد المقبول و تفسیرها الملقب بزهرة الاکمام1 للامام الهمام الخ.

He also used the Kashshâf and Baiḍâwî’s Commentary. Well written.

Prefixed to the volume is a list of contents, which is, however, incomplete.
