This project provides a baseline of the environmental microbial diversity for a Putumayo region recovered from soil, water, and sediments samples. 16S and ITS regions were amplified for bacteria and fungi, respectively. We characterized the diversity existing in highly perturbed and contaminated lowlands. This baseline will allow evaluating the different recovery strategies applied by governmental and private actors.
