A genome for the hexaploid plant Bidens hawaiensis (Asteraceae) was assembled from High-Fidelity Sequences generated on a Pacific Biosciences Sequel II System using two 8M cells in CCS mode. The haplotype-aware, draft genome assembly consisted of approximately 6.7 Giga bases (Gb), close to the holoploid genome size estimate of 7.56 Gb determined by flow cytometry. Collapsing the draft assembly into a consensus haploid representation (with Purge_Dups) resulted in 15,958 contigs containing 3.48 Gb, and having a contig N50 value of 421,857. The plant originated from Cape Kumukahi, Hawaii island, Hawaii, United States of America.
