Replication package for Ventura, O.N., "Concentrated Benefits, Diffuse Costs, and the Populist Ratchet: Theory and Evidence from Uruguay's 2024 Pension Plebiscite", manuscript submitted to the European Journal of Political Economy (2026). It contains the Python code for the dynamic simulations, the calibration to Uruguay and the external-shock arithmetic (Section 4 and Appendix C); the code for the circuit-level estimates on Uruguay's 2024 pension plebiscite (Section 5 and Appendix B); the source files from the Electoral Court's open data, with their retrieval date and checksums; the constructed circuit-level dataset; and all outputs. A single command (sh reproduce.sh) regenerates every number, table and figure and checks the outputs against the versions reported in the paper. README.md maps each script to the tables and figures of the paper.
