Mangrove ecosystems are crucial Blue Carbon Ecosystems, with their soil acting as rich carbon reservoir for millennia. These ecosystems serves various ecosystem functions, and are pivotal in preventing climate change . Microbes are the key players in regulating the functioning of these ecosystems and their carbon dynamics. However, the exact functional role of these microorganisms remains largely unknown to us, This study aims at elucidating the functional diversity soil microbial communities of mangrove ecosystems and compare them with the terrestrial forest ecosystems, to report their potential capacity in carbon utilization and storage. Shotgun sequencing method was used for functional profiling analysis of microbial communities.
