Sediment core photographs collected aboard R/V Weatherbird II cruise WB-0915 and R/V Justo Sierra cruise JS-0815 in the southern Gulf of Mexico from 2015-07-30 to 2015-09-29

This dataset contains sediment core photographs collected aboard R/V Weatherbird II cruise WB-0915 and R/V Justo Sierra cruise JS-0815 in the southern Gulf of Mexico from 2015-07-30 to 2015-09-29. Sediment cores were longitudinally split and photographed with a Nikon D5100 digital camera with a scale in metric units (cm and mm) for a visual representation of sediment stratigraphy, color, and visual properties. The dataset contains an excel spreadsheet with the photograph filename, core ID, date, location and depth of sediment core collection. Cruise documentation was provided for both cruises WB-0815 and WB-0915. The cruises were led by chief scientists Dr. Steve Murawski and Dr. David Hollander.
