DNA and RNA mNGS was performed on a cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) sample using both short-read Illumina sequencing and long-read Nanopore sequencing. Analysis of these samples revealed a Trypanosoma brucei infection that was subsequently clinically validated using PCR.
