DuckDB Databases Generated with BacTaxID (December 2025)

This repository contains DuckDB database files generated with BacTaxID in December 2025 for robust bacterial taxonomic analysis. BacTaxID is a dedicated software framework for the reproducible classification of bacterial sequences using scalable sketching algorithms and hierarchical, multi-level workflows. The provided files are in the DuckDB format (.duckdb), enabling direct integration with local SQL environments and reproducible analytical pipelines. The released databases include: Structured tables with rich taxonomic and genomic metadata for all included samples. Compact sequence sketches for reference genomes, optimized for rapid query and taxonomic assignment. Hierarchical information spanning multiple taxonomic levels as defined by the BacTaxID protocol. Embedded record of software and database versions, key parameters (such as k-mer size and sketch size), and the classification codes/results produced in each database build. These databases have been validated for integrity and portability.
