Integrated approach to sustainable prospecting for natural marine products: from diversity to anticancer substances

This project aims to use an integrated approach for the isolation of substances with anticancer activity from marine microorganisms associated with ascidians, corals and sediment from the Brazilian coast. The fundamental premise is the use of different prospecting strategies, including those that are dependent (fractionation guided by biological activity and the therapeutic target) and culture-independent (metabolomics and metagenomics).
