The Demaio Mechanical Calculus: MS 408 as a Pre-Digital Firmware Registry for Analog Computational Assemblies

资源简介:
Abstract For six centuries, the Voynich Manuscript (MS 408) has been treated almost exclusively as a cryptographic or linguistic puzzle. This paper breaks from the traditional linguistic paradigm by presenting the Sandbox Drafting Theory. We model the manuscript not as a spoken human language, but as a permanent, error-free firmware registry and manual macro-instruction set designed to calibrate 15th-century analog computing assemblies (volvelles). By analyzing physical manuscript anomalies alongside the token mechanics identified in The Voynich Mandate (Grant, 2026), we demonstrate that the text operates as a deterministic, post-fix geometric rendering script where geometry = language and script = algorithm.
