These data accompany the following paper:
Fridley, J.D. and Wright, J.P. 2018. Temperature accelerates the rate fields become forests. Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences USA, DOI 10.1073.
The datasets include 1538 observations of tree seedling growth in 2015 in a factorial experiment of soil fertility and herbaceous composition replicated across six locations in Eastern USA, along with mean light levels experienced by each seedling, and associated data of characteristics of 336 experimental plots containing the seedlings. Plot data include site, soil and herb treatment, availability of soil N, P, and K, soil moisture, and dry mass of herbaceous shoots and roots.
