We have constructed a polyamine biosynthesis mutant that lacks the speB, speC, speE and speF genes, effectively knocking out all putrescine and spermidine biosynthesis. To verify the correct construction of the mutant, and the absence of other mutations, we have conducted whole genome sequencing using the illumine platform.
