16S rRNA amplicon data from microbial communities of Gulf of Aqaba sediments

Three sediment cores were sampled at 670 m deep in Gulf of Aqaba. Sediments cores were divided into 8 one-centimetre slices from the surface to deeper layers. Samples were used for 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing analysis using primers Bac-341F (CCTACGGGNGGCWGCAG) and Bac-805R (GACTACHVGGGTATCTAATCC), and sequenced on an Illumina NextSeq 2000 platform, generating 2 Ã 300 bp paired-end reads. The uploaded sequences correspond to the demultiplexed sequences. The names follow the code Ei-[core id].[centimetres from surface].fastq.
