The dataset contains gridded absolute dynamic topography (ADT) or sea surface height (SSH) above the geoid. The data derive from optimal interpolation of L3 along-track satellite observations and were produced by the E.U. Copernicus Marine Service and redistributed by the Gulf of America Coastal Ocean Observing System (GCOOS) under the leadership of Robert Leben (leben@colorado.edu). The files used for the publication "Multiple equilibrium states of the Gulf of Mexico Loop Current", by Sheremet, Khan, and Kuehl (2022, doi: 10.1007/s10236-022-01534-8) were obtained from GCOOS.
