Metabarcoding profiles of eukaryotic phytoplankton within coastal water off Sweden and Norway

Water samples had been taken at 10 stations during HE431 expedition aboard the RV Heincke at depths of about 10 m with a rosette sampler at the coasts of Norway (Lofoten) and Sweden (Kategat) between 2014-08-23 and 2014-09-06. All samples were size fractionated to enrich Microplankton (20-50 µm) samples. Of selected fraction DNA was extracted and the rDNA of the D1/D2 region of the 28S rDNA (primer D1R-F and D2C-R) was amplified and resulting amplicons were sequenced on a 454 GS FLX sequencer. In total 10 metabarcoding samples were obtained.
