Development of Trypanosoma congolense IL3000 in the host bloodstream

Trypanosoma congolense IL3000 parasites were grown in adult MF1 mice with parasites harvested on day 5 post infection ('ascend') or on day 6/7 post infection ('peak'). Three replicates each of two conditions (ascending, peak) were analysed. 'Peak' samples were each derived from single infections; 'ascend' samples were derived from pooling, but with independent pools for each replicate, a total of 8 infections used overall to generate sufficient material for analysis. All samples were analysed for their cell cycle status by scoring the number of kinetoplasts and nuclei in parasites.
