Eaglehawk Neck Whale viewing platform and interpretation site

The project will include design and construction of a whale viewing platform at Eaglehawk Neck to take advantage of the uninterrupted views out into the Tasman Sea. This is on the migratory route for whales and there have been numerous sightings of the Southern right whale, killer whale and humpback. Approximately 65 sightings have been recorded within a 2.5km distance of the proposed viewing platform sight. The platform will house initially two interpretation panels to educate visitors about whales and their migratory habits, how to identify whales and how people can help by reporting sightings
