Panel Dataset on Public-Private Partnership Investment, Climate Vulnerability, and Governance Quality in 100 Developing Countries (2000-2024)

This record contains a balanced panel dataset comprising 2,500 country-year observations for 100 developing countries observed annually from 2000 to 2024. The dataset was compiled to support research, methodological analysis, framework validation, teaching, and replication exercises in climate finance and infrastructure governance. The dataset integrates variables obtained from widely used international data sources, including the World Bank Private Participation in Infrastructure (PPI) Database, the Notre Dame Global Adaptation Initiative (ND-GAIN) Country Index, the Worldwide Governance Indicators (WGI), and the World Development Indicators (WDI). The 30 variables cover total and low-carbon PPP investment (with log transformations) and project counts; ND-GAIN vulnerability with exposure, sensitivity, and adaptive capacity sub-indices; six WGI governance dimensions (regulatory quality, rule of law, government effectiveness, political stability, and control of corruption); macroeconomic and structural controls (GDP per capita, GDP growth, inflation, FDI, population, urbanization, electricity access, and road density); and climate finance flows. The dataset covers 100 developing countries across six regions: East Asia and Pacific, Europe and Central Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, Middle East and North Africa, South Asia, and Sub-Saharan Africa.
