Global Cropland Dynamics from Land Use and Land Cover Transition Period Maps

This dataset provides a global assessment of cropland dynamics, derived from multi-temporal Land Use and Land Cover (LULC) transition period maps (2001\u20132023). It was generated using a novel pixel-level temporal encoding methodology developed by the authors, which is currently under journal submission. Based on the MODIS MCD12Q1 v6.1 product, the dataset identifies cropland persistence, expansion, and intensification worldwide, offering a standardized and scalable resource for agricultural monitoring and land system analysis.
