This series consists of outward letter books used by the Mining Surveyor of the Beechworth Division of the Beechworth Mining District. Letter books were the means by which copies of correspondence despatched from the office and other items were retained for future reference. Items within these volumes include letters documenting the Surveyor's official duties and reports about mining claims. The existence of volumes before or after the volumes in archival custody are unknown.
