To complement genomic resources of cavefishes and to study molecular decay of eye genes, we sequenced the genome of the Cuban cavefish Lucifuga dentata (Ophidiiformes).The final assembly of the draft genome was composed of 52,944 scaffolds which size sum up to 634 Mb and with a scaffold N50 of 119.6 kb. Lucifuga dentata (Poey 1858). This blind cave dwelling fish is endemic of Cuba, it has a fragmented distribution over 300 km in south-western karst areas of the main island.
