Gene expression profiling of Korean poorly differentiated thyroid carcinomas (PDTC) patients

Poorly differentiated thyroid carcinoma (PDTC) is a subtype of thyroid cancer that has a high rate of metastasis or recurrence and a relatively poor prognosis. To identify genetic features and clinical relevance specific to PDTC, we performed genomic profiling of 15 patients with PDTC using whole exome sequencing. Primary tumor and matched, adjacent normal thyroid tissue were collected from the 15 patients for mutation profiling and mRNA expression profiling.
