资源简介:
Urinary bladder cancer (UBC) is one of the most common urological malignancies, being the tenth most common malignancy worldwide. This prospective study sought to identify host genes and pathways that could characterize bladder cancer. This study is aimed at identifying and analyzing the native Oncobiome in patients with NMIBC using shot-gun meta-transcriptomics of UBC tissues and comparing them with the native non-diseased bladder cancer tissues from the same patient to obtain more significant insights into the role of the meta-transcriptome in the etiopathogenesis of UBC.This study paves the way to a broader understanding of the carcinogenesis of UBC with a comprehensive analysis of the entire meta-transcriptome to identify specific altered candidate genes. Further extensive studies should focus on identifying all the dysregulated genes and the pathways in which they are implicated. This can enable us to design tests for early diagnosis of the disease to predict disease progression and the probability of recurrence of NMIBC. Studies that can potentially identify and develop novel targeted therapies can revolutionize the existing NMIBC treatment, improving overall disease-related outcomes.
