Macropinocytosis

Macropinocytosis is a non-selective form of endocytosis where cells internalize large volumes of extracellular fluid, nutrients, and other macromolecules, primarily through membrane ruffling. This pathway plays an important role in various cellular processes, including nutrient uptake, immune response, cell migration, and cancer cell metabolism. Macropinocytosis is regulated by a range of signaling pathways that influence the actin cytoskeleton and membrane dynamics to drive macropinosome formation.
