Análise temporal e espacial da mortalidade por doenças cardiovasculares: estudo descritivo, Brasil, 2003-2023

This is a secondary, population-based database structured from official records of deaths due to cardiovascular diseases (ICD-10: codes I00–I99) and aggregated demographic information. The data are organized at an ecological level (federal units and/or municipalities), with no nominal identification, thereby ensuring the anonymity of individuals. The database is composed of temporal variables (year of death), spatial variables (geographic unit), demographic characteristics (sex and selected age groups), and mortality indicators (number of deaths, crude rates, and age-standardized rates).
The scope of the database covers the entire Brazilian territory over a 21-year period, from 2003 to 2023. For each geographic unit and study year, it includes the total number of deaths from cardiovascular diseases, the resident population used as the denominator for calculating rates, and, when applicable, contextual variables (such as socioeconomic indicators or measures of healthcare service availability) that complement the characterization of mortality patterns. This scope enables descriptive time-series analyses, thematic map production, and the application of spatial analysis techniques to identify clusters, high-risk areas, and temporal changes in cardiovascular mortality in Brazil.
