The study aims to better understand syntrophic metabolic interactions between methanogenic archaea and bacterial partners using simplified mixed cultures exposed to different carbon sources. Shotgun DNA sequencing samples were generated for triplicate cultures fed with acetate and H2/CO2 in varying ratios along with triplicate cultures supplemented with amino acids and 2-Bromoethanesulfonate.
