WRF-PartMC-MOSAIC-LES

This repository contains model code for WRF-PartMC-MOSAIC-LES as used in the publication "Idealized Particle-Resolved Large-Eddy Simulations to Evaluate the Impact of Emissions Spatial Heterogeneity on CCN Activity". The base model, WRF-PartMC: version 1.0 is can be found here, which includes the primary WRF v3.9.1 model and interface code for coupling to PartMC, however the PartMC model and multiphase chemistry model MOSAIC are not included. This repository includes the following additions to the WRF-PartMC codebase: The main WRF v.3.9.1 codebase and interface code are packaged alongside the PartMC aerosol model (v.2.6.1) and the multiphase chemistry model MOSAIC, which is now open-source. In the "wrf-partmc-mosaic-les/WRFV3/test/em_les" directory, scripts are included for submitting WRF-PartMC-MOSAIC-LES model scenarios alongside helper scripts for handing model initialization. A catalogue of emissions scenarios, ranging in the level of spatial heterogeneity as measured by the metric of Mohebalhojeh et al. 2025, is included in the "wrf-partmc-mosaic-les/WRFV3/test/em_les/spatial-het" directory
