A detailed study of far south ecosystems was conducted at La Gorce Mountains and nearby nunataks. A general biological survey was carried out describing the occurrence of any organisms encountered and specimens were collected for identification. Soil samples were also taken for algae and fungi content and water samples from ponds for chemical analysis. 138 triplicate samples were microscopically examined and cultured for identification of microalgae. From a cap on Robinson Glacier, nunataks to the immediate north (Mt Bowlin, Mt Noville, Mt Suarez, Mt Roland, Szacho Bluff and Price Bluff) and to Mt Mooney to the south of the camp were visited.
