资源简介:

Seven years of Home Mortgage Disclosure Act records for the nine Northern Virginia jurisdictions, aggregated to census tract and jurisdiction. This atlas turns 1,182,126 raw Home Mortgage Disclosure Act loan/application records into an annual, tract-level picture of who got a mortgage in Northern Virginia between 2018 and 2024, who was turned down, and how much the credit market shrank when rates moved. After filtering to a core mortgage universe -- site-built one-to-four family homes, principal residence, first lien, closed-end, non-business, purchase or refinance -- 764,805 applications and 519,477 originations worth $252.3 billion remain. Regional originations peaked at 160,779 in 2020 and fell to 25,850 in 2023, an 83.9 percent collapse, while the median originated loan rose from $431,200 to $535,300 over the same window. HMDA is published as a national flat file with no geometry; nothing in the public record presents it as a Northern Virginia spatial panel with an ACS owner-occupancy denominator, which is what this dataset is.Produced by the Keystone GIS Northern Virginia Autonomous GIS Research Program.
