Whole Genome Analysis of Haemophilus influenzae Strains Isolated from People with Cystic Fibrosis

The genetic diversity of Haemophilus influenzae strains present in the lungs of people with cystic fibrosis (CF) is largely unknown despite this organism being considered a pathogen in this condition. The aim of this study was to screen the whole genomes of H. influenzae isolates from people with CF from different countries, that belong to different sequence types, for the presence of antibiotic resistance mechanisms and virulence factors that are variably present among H. influenzae isolates.
