The relationship of psychological loneliness to abnormal tendencies among divorced women in light of self-compassion.

Participants and Sampling Procedures                                                                          Participants: Out of 250 questionnaires, 233 were returned (a response rate of 93%). Of the returned questionnaires, 17 were eliminated because they did not meet the inclusion criteria, resulting in a final sample of , 233 divorced women distributed as follows: (70) divorced women selected from the Hamza Abdel Motteleb Association in Alexandria, (88) women from the divorced women club in Cairo, (50) of the divorced women frequenting the office of the social workers in the Family Court of Imbaba, Giza Governorate, and (25) of the divorced women frequenting the office of the social worker at the Court of Qus District in the Governorate of Qena. divorced women aged between 36 and 54 years, with a mean age of 39.6 (SD = 8) (see Table 1 for sample characteristics). Participants reported their age, education (primary/guidance school, diploma, bachelor, master’s/doctorate degree), length of prior marriage, months since the divorce, number of children, and job status (housewife vs. employed).
