资源简介:
The Queensland fruit fly, Bactrocera tryoni (Froggatt) (Diptera: Tephritidae: Dacinae) is the most significant insect pest of Australian horticulture. While the basic ecological and behaviour of B. tryoni have been researched for over 100 years, the genetic underpinning on different characteristics of this species remains enigma. While few EST transcripts are published for B. tryoni, the data is very limited and important genes, such as genes related to metabolism, behaviour, development, insecticide detoxifying enzymes and sex determination are currently unpublished. In this study, we used short read sequencing technology (Illumina) for the sequencing and de novo assembly of the B. tryoni transcriptome. the large scale sequencing of the B. tryoni transcriptome reported here will increase the amount of sequence data for this species and provide a resource for the identification of genes involved in reproduction, signalling, odorant binding and development, as well as major signal transduction and metabolic pathways.
