"PUSH AND PULL FACTORS ILLUMINATION OF NURSES MIGRATION: APHENOMENOLOGICAL STUDY"

Abstract: The present investigation was carried out to examine the prevailing phenomenon of nursing migration, utilizing evidence-based data and information. This study aims to gather data regarding the experiences of Filipino nurses both in the Philippines and abroad, with a focus on the push and pull factors that contribute to the phenomenon known as brain drain. The primary objective of this approach is to conduct a comprehensive examination and analysis of the fundamental factors driving migration, with the ultimate aim of improving the healthcare system in the Philippines. The study employed Van Manen's qualitative descriptive phenomenology, which is based on the philosophical principles of phenomenology. The researcher employed purposive sampling to select the key participants for this investigation. In conclusion, the study reveals that the driving factors and motivations of Filipino nurses exhibit variation as a result of their distinct individual needs. Some individuals choose to participate in migration as a result of its widespread acceptance and integration into society. The potential for enhanced quality of life has made migration a feasible option for individuals living in developing countries in which the nursing professionals receive a diverse array of career prospects.Keywords: Push and Pull, Filipino Nurses, Migration, Brain Drain Syndrome, Brain Gain.
