Water temperature profiles from the Figino thermistor chain, Lake Lugano

The monitoring system is operated by the Institute of Earth Sciences of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI). Temperature measurements are acquired at multiple depths along the water column and are made available through an OGC SensorThings API implemented using istSOS4. The dataset is continuously updated as new observations become available. Live data access:https://hydromet.supsi.ch/tsdb/v1.1/Things(18) The SensorThings Thing(18) represents the thermistor-chain monitoring system and provides access to its associated Datastreams and Observations. At present, observations are published as received from the monitoring system and should be considered provisional data. The dataset has not yet undergone a systematic manual validation and quality-control procedure. Users should therefore take this into account when using the data for scientific analyses and are encouraged to inspect the observations for possible sensor anomalies, gaps, or other artefacts. istSOS4 maintains historical versions of the observations. When reproducibility of a specific analysis is required, the state of the dataset at a given point in time can be reconstructed using the as_of functionality.
