Fiat Chrysler Automobiles: car sales by country 2018-2020

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) sold some 434,000 new vehicles in Brazil in 2020, a decrease of about 63,000 vehicles. FCA's overall shipments were down 22 percent in 2020. The United States remains FCA's largest market Fiat Chrysler Automobiles sold more vehicles in the United States than in any other market. Sales in the United States fell by more than 17 percent to 1.8 million units in 2020. FCA accounted for 12 percent of the U.S. vehicle market in the fourth quarter of 2020. Can Stellantis enter the Chinese market? In October 2019, Fiat Chrysler and competitor PSA Group announced the agreement of a merger between the two manufacturers. The merger aims to serve both parties by helping boost research and development into electric vehicles and providing better access to their rivals' markets. Both companies have struggled in China, the world’s largest automotive market. Shutting down some operations is often expected as a result of automotive mergers; PSA lost one of its Chinese partners in the days before the announcement of the merger. Chinese preference has been shifting towards battery electric vehicles. PSA and FCA will be competing with brands that have already established a presence with electric models.
