VPRS 17446 Country Roads Board Contract Register

Section 455, Part XVI of the Local Government Act 1915 allowed municipal councils to enter into contracts for the purpose of executing works directed or authorised by the Act. The same piece of legislation stipulated the need for such contracts to be in writing.This series registered and summarised contracts let by the Council in relation to Country Roads Board Contracts. Contract registers were to specify the works to be done, materials to be furnished, prices to be paid and the times within which the said works are to be completed.The register records the details in summary form of Country Roads Board contracts entered into by Council.
