Bioregionalization of South African Wetlands

This dataset shows the maps that lay at the basis of the bioregionalization of wetland vegetation in the paper by Mkhize, Y & Sieben, EJJ. The paper uses the wetland vegetation database of South Africa in order to define metacommunities. The distribution of these metacommunities is then determined using several maps of biophysical environmental parameters and maximum entropy modelling. The overlay of these 15 distribution maps then leads to a single bioregional map of wetland vegetation across South Africa.
