Comparison of Environmental DNA metabarcoding and trawl data highlights gear selectivity of marine demersal fish surveys on the Faroese plateau

Raw data from Environmental DNA metabarcoding samples amplified with 12S MiFish- U (Miya et al., 2015) marker region. The water samples were collected on the Faroese plateau at 26 trawl sampling sites. Along with 26 biological samples there were 2 field blanks 2 lab air blanks and 2 extraction blanks plus 2 PCR blanks. The data was collected in order to compare it to trawl data and the goal of the study was to assess whether eDNA data could help quantify fish stocks and avoid gear selectivity in stock estimates.
