Belmont Wetlands East Coast Storms Restoration Project – Stage 2

This project will continue Stage 1 works such as:
(i) reducing erosion, through revegetation and weed control, along the Fernleigh Bicycle Track;
(ii) revegetating an iconic dune which lost a lot of vegetation during a recent storm event and is washing into a wetland lagoon;
(iii) repairing numerous unsealed roads and walking tracks that have many small to large erosion washouts/holes; and
(iv) participating in community working bees to clear large amounts of green waste and fallen trees/shrubs which are affecting public access.
In addition, this project will spray herbicide on areas of Bitou Bitou bush in preparation for a community group to replace with native vegetation after the Green Army project finishes.
