"Handwritten character recognition is a critical task in the field of pattern recognition and optical character recognition (OCR). In this work, we present the Bangla Handwritten Consonant and Vowel Dataset, a comprehensive collection of handwritten Bangla alphabets designed to facilitate OCR research and benchmarking. The dataset contains 58 classes, comprising 36 consonant letters, 10 dependent vowels, and 12 independent vowels, ensuring full coverage of the Bangla alphabet. Each class includes a balanced number of handwritten samples collected from diverse writers to capture variations in writing styles. This dataset is particularly suitable for tasks such as handwritten character recognition, deep learning-based classification, and script-level comparative studies."
